One of the ways Chabad Brighton can help you is by providing you with a mezuzah for your doorpost or a pair of tefillin for your daily prayers.

You can contact Rabbi Pesach Efune for more information or assistance with these mitzvot.

Kosher Kitchen

Times are changing. Over the past two decades thousands of individuals and families round the UK have decided to modify their eating styles to bring them more in line with the laws of kashrut.

Any kitchen can be made kosher. Whether your kitchen is up-to-the minute in fashionable design or a relic of the 1920’s, whether you have a spacious “great room” or a tiny galley kitchen, you can readily adapt it to kosher practices.

Chabad offers a free kashering service to people who want keep a Kosher kitchen and will even give you £200 to help defray any costs.

To take advantage of this service, please contact Rabbi Efune on 07885 538681.

Shmura Matzah

Shmura Matzah is a special kind of matzah that meets a higher standard of kosher for Passover rules.

It is made from wheat that is guarded from the time of harvesting to prevent any contact with water or moisture that could cause leavening. The wheat is also inspected to make sure it is clean and whole.

The flour and water are then kneaded and baked by hand in a very short time, usually less than 18 minutes.

Shmura Matzah is round and has a crisp and crumbly texture. It is considered to be more authentic and faithful to the matzah that the Israelites baked when they left Egypt.

We usually take orders for Shmura Matzah a few weeks prior to Passover.
